The Turnitover Cards emerged from diverse sources: the I Ching, the Tao and Tantra from the East, and Gestalt Psychology from the West. The cards use the concepts of cyclicity, dualities and yin/yang, but speak in language and imagery suited to modern Western sensibilities
There are 32 cards. Each card face has an instruction, in large print, and details in smaller print. The instruction is to be received by the reader, who is to apply it to himself or herself. The reader may apply it to some aspect of his or her experience. The details are presented to give more guidance of what the instruction might evoke. The details create a constext for applying the instruction.

Turning the card over presents a contrasting instuction, that might be considered the "opposite."
